Fashion Star Makes its TV Debut

Hosted by supermodel Elle Macpherson, Fashion Star made its much anticipated debut this Tuesday on NBC. The show features celebrity mentors Nicole Richie, John Varvatos and Jessica Simpson, along with three powerful buyers for fashion giants Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and H&M.

Although the premise of the show has a very practical element, each week contestants are given the opportunity of having their designs purchased and made available to the general public, it remains to see whether the show will be successful. And even if the ratings keep it on air, only time will tell if any stars will actually emerge from this reality competition.
